This summer I hear the drumming

thinking of all the students who have been abused, hurt and even killed by those in uniform.

“Tin soldiers and Nixon’s coming
We’re finally on our own
This summer I hear the drumming
Four dead in Ohio

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago
What if you knew her and
Found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know

Ah, la la la la…

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago
What if you knew her and
Found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know

Tin soldiers and Nixon’s coming
We’re finally on our own
This summer I hear the drumming
Four dead in Ohio
Four dead in Ohio”

the wayback mystery

My first blog post on this newly relaunched folkswriter.com site was intended to be a look back at the old web site. I vaguely recall that I had a cool page background or watermark that might be useful on the new site. But it didn’t work out that way.

When recovering from a head injury, you look for independent verification points to validate your own recollection and fill in bits and pieces that are missing. It’s a bit disturbing then that wayback.com has no record of my prior web site. It seemed logical to start the launch of the new web site content by taking a look back at what used to be.

This means that I’ll need to do some more digging to find out what published content might have survived, possibly on some other backup media.
